March 5, 2008 Speakers: Doug Ibarguen and Al Feather

Doug and Al shared some wonderfully telling photos of the recent trip to Guatemala City and the program called:" Changing Poverty Through Education". This is a World Community Service Project. Safe Passage is the program and is about the children of the "dump". These children and their families survive from on the dump of the city and the program provides both education, medical and other services to the area of the city. The school provides for the children and for some of them it is the only real meal of their day. While the group was in Guatamala, they visited two different Rotary Clubs and shared information from what they observed during these visits.
