The group heard a very interesting summary from a group of folks representing the Franklin County Blacksmith Association . This group focuses on educational opportunities to teach about the art of blacksmithing. They provide classes, programs for groups, and share ideas on the craft of blacksmithing with the group's members. This organization runs the blacksmith shop at the fairgrounds as one way to share the skills from this group with a large crowd. They make many useful tools out of the iron, both traditional and new. These items include hooks, nails, knives, and many more.
