Our speaker, Laughlin Titus, was introduced by Jeff Harris and share some very interesting information on a project he is involved with called Farms for the Future. This program provides technical support for individuals who may be interested in expanding or starting a farming operation. The organization offers grants that provide a team to guide the requesting individual. These teams of 4 consultants help to develop a business plan and marketing plans for the grant recipients. The design is to create sustainable operations that have a high likelihood of continued operation by going through the process and design of the Farms for the Future organization. Mr. Titus shared examples of several proposals he has seen and been a part of.
