Our Farmington Rotarian, Alan Nemlich, shared a letter his granddaugther wrote in October, 2012. She is in college and preparing to join the military in Israel.

She says:

Hey,

I walked back to my room for a sec this morning and suddenly I smelled the grass.  And that's becasue someone mowed it.  And then it hit me. We are like the grass, and like hair and like trees...Like we mow the lawn, we cut split ends and split branches to help them grown again we are like that too.  We need to be cut and trimmed from time to time in order to grow.  We need to hear constructive criticism that cuts us back on the one hand but really helps us grow on the other.  We need to be trimmed in order to restart from a better place and to search for the right path.. Just thought of this idea when I smelled the grass and thought of you.  Thanks for mowing me and trimming me when it's needed and by that helping me grown again from a new, fresh and better place...

Have a great day:)

Love you, miss you very much and hope all is well..
